Texas Tech and Lubbock police were searching for a man who attempted to steal a woman's car, stole her purse, and accosted another student Sunday night.
Tech PD reported a woman was on the east side of Horn Hall when she was approached by a black man wearing a hoodie and carrying a pistol, who demanded she get out of her car and give him her keys. She screamed and punched him in the head before the suspect took her keys and purse, then ran to a getaway car with three more black men inside. That car was described as a dark blue, four-door Chevrolet Cavalier with non-tinted windows.
Investigators said a second woman called a short time later, saying she was outside of Gordon Hall when a car matching that description driven by a black man pulled up in front of her. Tech PD reports another black man jumped out of the vehicle and demanded she get inside, but she ran away. She told Tech PD the car then sped away.
