Twisted Root burger helps firefighters raise money for charity

Two Lubbock firefighters are fund raising for a stair climbing challenge in Seattle.

Adrian Barajas and Kris Kelly will climb 69 flights of stairs in full gear, including oxygen tanks, raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Twenty percent of the proceeds form food sales at Twisted Root restaurant today are going toward their goal of $5,000.

"The Scott Firefighter Climb raises money in association with the Leukemia Lymphoma Society," Kelly said. "This is actually the 25th year that they've done this and they've had firefighters over 1900 participants last year participate and they raised a record setting 2.2 million dollars last year in this climb."

The Scott Firefighter stair climb is March 6 is at the Columbia Tower in Washington.
