South Plains Food Bank opens new distribution center

The South Plains Food Bank can now count on a new distribution center to meet growing demands on the South Plains. The 60,000 square foot structure was made possible with help from the J.T. and Margaret Talkington Foundation.

"It gives us the opportunity and capacity to really serve in a new and improved and better way," Davide Weaver CEO of the food bank said. "We'll be able to get more fresh produce, we'll be able to get more frozen items, we'll be able to take in more food just as we need it."

The new building also has a new drive through window making it more convenient for those who are food insecure.
