Lubbock Relay for Life this coming weekend

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Relay for Life of Lubbock County will be Saturday, April 30, at the Lubbock Christian University Rhodes-Perrin Rec Center, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. It'll be a mix of indoors and outdoors, unlike previous years where it was one or the other. The Relay is the American Cancer Society's signature fundraiser, inviting survivors, supporters, and the community to join in walking and donating to show support for cancer victims.

To gear up for the Relay, the organization will be throwing a "Fundraiser for Life" at any of the four Racer Classic Car Washes in Lubbock Monday and Tuesday (April 25, 26) to donate. You can even upgrade your wash to include signature purple soap, which will donate an extra $2 to Relay.

Jason Morton, a seven-year testicular cancer survivor, was a guest on the News Sunday night to share his story of success fighting cancer, his involvement with Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society, and preview this year's Relay. Click the video at the top of this page for the full interview.
