LISD approves lease giving students access to new Buddy Holly Ha

Lubbock Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a lease agreement between the district and the Lubbock Entertainment and Performing Arts Association.

LEPAA is building the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences.

"This agreement today was all about the kids," Superintendent Berhl Robertson said. "Them having access to world-class facilities right here in Lubbock, Texas, that Lubbock ISD can market as their own because our name will be on the building."

Robertson says the new facility is not only good for the students, but the entire Lubbock community.

Robertson says there are still a few legal tweaks to make to the contract, but it should be signed within a week.
