Motorcycle, car clubs rally awareness of child abuse, neglect

Many car clubs across the South Plains boosted the attendance for a Blue Ribbon Rally Saturday in the Depot District. The Family Guidance and Outreach Center used the event to rally support for victims of child abuse and their supporters, as well as encourage others to report the crimes.

The classic car and bike show brought hundreds of attendees to hear the message and see the hard work that the supporting organizations had put together.

"People love the vehicles," Preston Peebles with Knights Customs said. "A lot of times, they only see it online or at shops, so it's great for these people to come by and see it in action, really."

All proceeds from the event go directly toward funding programs that the Family Guidance and Outreach Center provides free of charge, such as parenting, life skills, and anger management classes.
