LUBBOCK, Texas -
Lubbock-area fourth-graders are learning about the dangers of electricity.
May is Electrical Safety Month. That's why the South Plains Electrical Cooperative is teaching kids how to be safe around electricity.
Demonstrations included the dangers of power lines.
"We hope they would never experience a bad situation with electricity, but we hope with what we teach them and show them here that they'll know how to act and be safe if that ever happens," said South Plains Co-op Manager of Communications Lynn Simmons.
This is the 16th year the co-op has hosted the safety demonstrations.
