Cinco de Mayo is a day honoring the Battle of Puebla where a Mexican militia defeated the French. It's also a day to showcases Mexican culture across the country. One ballet folklórico group making multiple stops across Lubbock to share the Mexican culture.
"I've been dancing since the morning," Antonio Lucio, a ballet folklórico dancer said.
Ballet Folklórico Aztlan visited retirement homes and schools across the city.
"It's important to me because it's my culture and I've done it ever since I was little," Azelia Reyes, another member of the ballet folklórico troupe said. "I feel good expressing how I feel about Mexican culture."
These kids and teens using Cinco de Mayo as a chance to share the Mexican culture.
"It feels exciting and fun that we get to do that for our culture," Evangelina Jimenez, a ballet folklórico dancer said.
