The Texas Department of Public Safety seized more than 57 pounds of marijuana and more than half a pound of methamphetamine Wednesday in Oldham County, west of Amarillo.

According to a DPS report, a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a car traveling east on IH-40 near Wildorado, for a traffic violation. A DPS canine was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle. The trooper searched the car and discovered multiple vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana in the trunk and methamphetamine in the driver’s purse. DPS reports the drugs are valued at approximately $394,000.

The driver, Keri Medley, 46, of Grants Pass, Oregon, was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana and felony possession of a controlled substance. She was transported and booked into the Oldham County jail.

According to the report, the drugs were allegedly being transported from Colorado to Texas.
