LPD: Man arrested for pointing gun with laser sight at night guard

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Lubbock police report a man was arrested after he pointed a gun with a laser sight on it at a night guard for the Koko Inn near 52nd St. and Ave. Q, after the night guard saw the suspect sleeping in his car.

Investigators say Ian Michael Bilbrey, 30, pointed the weapon at the guard when he approached the vehicle. When LPD responded and ordered Bilbrey out of his car, Bilbrey reportedly refused, so the cops went to pull him out of the car. Detectives said Bilbrey fought with the officers and dropped the gun in question in the scuffle. No one was hurt.

Bilbrey was booked and charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a firearm and of a weapon, and drug possession. He was held for more than $24,000 bond.
