Elections Office will recount LISD Dist. 1 votes Monday evening

LUBBOCK -

A recount of votes in the race for Lubbock ISD school board district 1 will start at 6:30 Monday evening, according to the Lubbock County Elections Office.

The Office released numbers Friday showing Lala Chavez and Maria Ybarra tied at 747 votes each.

If there is a tie after the recount there will be a second election, unless both candidates agree to decide the race by coin flip.
