LISD Dist. 1 automatic recount: Still a tie

The automatic recount triggered by an unofficial tie in the Lubbock ISD District 1 trustee election confirmed the same result: Mario Ybarra and Lala Oralia Chavez both had 747 votes.

The recount took a little less than three and a half hours, recounting nearly 1,500 votes. With the tie tallied, either both Chavez and Ybarra agree to a special election in the next 20-30 days, or agree to a coin flip.
