VIDEO: Fire crews monitoring wind turbine fire near Reese Center

SHALLOWATER, Texas -

A generator caught fire on top of a 300-foot tall wind turbine near Reese Center Tuesday, according to West Carlisle Fire Chief Tim Smith.

Fire crews from West Carlisle, Shallowater and Wolfforth were dispatched to monitor the blaze. No injuries were reported.

The biggest concern, according to Smith, is embers causing a grass fire.

The turbine reportedly contained 80 gallons of gear oil.
