Plainview crash victim identified, death under investigation

Update:

Plainview Police Department released new details in an a death investigation after a truck crashed in a residential area. Witnesses report the driver lost control of the vehicle. It damaged several vehicles before careening into the front yard of a home.

The victim has been identified as Johnny Abel Espinoza.

Officers found him unresponsive in the backyard of the home in the 1600 block of Kokomo Street, and he later died.

Witnesses at the scene suggested the victim may have suffered a gun shot wound, but the medical examiner says that's not the case.

The final autopsy is pending, awaiting toxicology results.

Plainview police are investigating a person's death after a truck crashed in a residential area.

Witnesses reported to dispatch the driver was armed, according to a Plainview press release.

The truck reportedly lost control, damaging several vehicles and came to a stop in the front yard of one of the homes.

Responding officers arrived on scene and reportedly found the driver unresponsive in the backyard of the home in the 1600 block of Kokomo Street.

EMS attempted CPR, according to the release, and the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional information is available at this time and the accident is still under investigation.
