Look Around Lubbock: Butterflies Alive!

The Science Spectrum's exhibit Butterflies Alive! Is about to flutter away. The special exhibition brings the magical experience of a wild butterfly encounter up close and personal, providing you and your family with the thrilling experience of being surrounded by not just a single butterfly, but hundreds of butterflies and moths flying freely.

Take a stroll in the "Flight House," greenhouse-like structure that contains the butterflies, moths, and flowering plants, or peek into the “Pupae Emergence Cabinet” where you can see new butterflies and moths emerge safely from their chrysalis before being released into the Flight House right in front of your eyes! Outside of the greenhouse, enjoy a hands-on interactive education station with activities and crafts.

If you loved Butterflies Alive! and want to take a part of it home with you, the Science Spectrum is hosting a plant sale to sell all of the plants in the "Flight House" on Wednesday, June 15th 10 a.m. to 1p.m.
