LUBBOCK: Lubbock Power and Light (LP&L) is scheduled to service overhead lights along west Loop 289 next week. The work will require the inside (left) mainlane at various locations along Loop 289 to be closed to traffic—allowing LP&L to safely make repairs and/or service the overhead lighting.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m., Monday, June 20, motorists can expect the inside southbound/eastbound Loop 289 mainlane to be closed at various locations between the Marsha Sharp Freeway (US 62/82) and Nashville Drive. The utilities work and lane closures will continue throughout the week; wrapping-up Friday, June 24.
The lanes are expected to reopen to traffic each afternoon by 4 p.m. No overnight closures are planned. The closures and work will take place weather permitting.
