New Atmos devices help customers track daily usage

Atmos Energy is installing new devices to help you monitor your gas usage more easily.

The company has been installing wireless meter readers for the past year as existing meters become old or obsolete.

"These are not smart meters in any way. It's simply a radio device that's installed on the meter that sends up a signal of the usage," said Atmos Energy West Division Manager of Public Affairs, Marinda Heinrich. "There's no way to shave your peak usage, there's no way to control input or the flow of gas."

The meters allow you to check usage daily, which can help identify gas leaks.
