LUNA plays human foosball featuring LFR and LPD

LUBBOCK, Texas -

The Lubbock United Neighborhood Association, a non-governmental community service group, used sponsorships, donations, and volunteers from across town to put on a human foosball game Saturday afternoon in order to raise vital funds for its operation.

LUNA coordinates different neighborhoods throughout the city to fight crime and promote safety, emphasize health and wellness, beautification, and emphasizing participation in community schools. The executive director of the group said it depends fully on volunteers and sponsoring businesses in LUNA's neighborhoods.

The headline game of the day: Lubbock police versus Lubbock Fire Rescue.

"We want to be part of the kids' lives," Michael Fraga, with LFR, said. "Especially when it comes to the community, because we, ourselves, are the community. It's real important for us to come out and spend time with anybody and everybody in a function like today's."
