Bond reduction denied for West Garza murder suspect

A Lubbock district judge denied a request to lower the bond amount for the man accused of murdering musician West Garza.

Pete Garcia, 55, remains jailed on a $1 million bond. 

Police say Garza was shot in the parking lot after he attended mass at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Parish.

Judge William Eichman also denied Garcia's lawyer's request to take a pretrial sworn statement from Judy Garcia, the defendant's ex-wife. Investigators report she was dating the victim and witnessed the shooting.
