Texas Tech is participating in Recyclemania, an eight- week tournament that ranks colleges and universities on their recycling efforts.
This is Tech's fourth year to compete, last year Tech finished 248 out of 311 universities with a rate of more than four pounds of recyclables per person on campus.
There are more than 300 colleges and universities across the United States and Canada that participate each year.
There are special categories in the competition for specific recyclables. On March 26th, an electronics drive will be held to collect these items from the Texas Tech and Lubbock community.
Until the competition ends there will be various events on and around campus to held bring awareness to recycling.
March 5th, TTU Men's basketball vs Kansas State, the sustainability team will be sweeping the court for plastic bottles after the game and is asking that all fans recycle their bottles in the various recycling bins around the arena
March 10th, you can go to Raising Canes and mention TTU Housing Recycling and a portion of the proceeds will go towards recycling efforts for Recyclemania.
