Students helping students. That's the idea behind a social media campaign launched today by students in the Lubbock, Frenship, and Lubbock-Cooper School Districts.
#GR806 encourages students to share positive messages, memes and photos.
"My generation, my peers, social media is the big thing. Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, it's all over the place," said Lubbock-Cooper High School student Annalisa Chatham. "If you look at someone's picture, all you see is hashtags. With the GR806, it's going to show us much more, it's going to bring us all together, it's going to show us why we're together and what's going on."
The campaign aims to tackle bullying, stress and other issues in the classroom.
"Sometimes we think that the athletes or the musicians - that they're all in their own clique and they only care about what they do - but this is a service project, and it really shows that we have so many students in this whole area that care about all kids," Superintendent Berhl Robertson said.
