INTERVIEW: Harris says he's 'the voice of the people'

The City Council District 2 seat has been in place for 37 years. In that time two people have held it. Now five candidates are running to replace Floyd Price, who isn't seeking re-election. Gordon Harris said the most pressing issue in the district is economic development.

"If we can get some economic development business going, that would bring families back into the community," Harris said, "and with the families coming back into the community, that would put a positive impact in that area."

Harris said he will be the voice of the people.

"As councilman, I will continue to work for the community as I have for many years on behalf of the citizens," he said.

Harris is running against Shelia Patterson Harris, Jared Hall, Tiger Pratt and Christopher Moore.
