Jared Hall, an attorney, is running to replace Floyd Price in the District 2 seat at City Council. Price isn't seeking re-election after 12 years. There four others running against him.
Regarding tax policy, Hall said on the News Friday night he's the only conservative running for that seat -- all the others have voted "for tax-and-spend liberals." Hall said he was completely against raising taxes.
Hall said the biggest issue facing District 2 is equal service from the city at a fair price.
"What that means is," he explained, "the roads are paved, kept under repair, the police are patrolling our neighborhoods, stopping and reducing crime, and code enforcement is out there making sure the lots and houses aren't overrun with weeds and falling into disrepair."
Hall said another goal of his was to reduce the city's $1.2 billion debt.
