LUBBOCK, Texas -
A man was hospitalized Friday night after he was shot in the legs. Investigators said the victim and a suspect had been fighting with each other for some time leading up to the confrontation, including the victim receiving threatening messages from the shooter.
LPD reported officers caught up to the victim in the ER, where he told investigators about the threats, as well as a phone call from a friend who said the shooting suspect and some of his friends had jumped the shooting victim's friend earlier that night.
In response, the shooting victim and more of their friends went to find the suspect; when they located him, a fight broke out. The victim reported an SUV with four more men inside drove up and the men surrounded the victim. One of the men pulled out a pistol and shot at the ground, striking the victim in the legs. When the victim hit the pavement, the suspects surrounded and started kicking him before eventually leaving in the same SUV.
The suspects were only described as two Hispanic and two black men. LPD needs leads, so if you know anything about that incident, call CrimeLine at or click the "Seen on FOX34" tab at the top of this page to find out how to submit a tip electronically.
