Two arrested after armed residential robbery

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Two men have been arrested after an armed residential robbery, according to police.

A resident in the 5900 block of 9th street reported to police she answered a knock on the door a little before 3 a.m. Wednesday morning to a person was standing on her porch asking about a dog. Before opening the door, the resident noticing a second suspect holding a gun. 

A second victim was pulling into the driveway at that time, saw the suspects and tried to leave when they reportedly turned the gun and pointed it at her. 

Police report she stopped her car and handed over her bag. Both suspects fled the scene. 

Responding officers were led on a short foot chase by one of the suspects, and eventually arrested both. The were booked into the Lubbock County Detention Facility.  Police say believe a third person may have been involved. 

Isiah Ortega, 19, was charged with aggravated robbery, evading on foot, engaging in organized criminal activity and a misdemeanor warrant. 

Douglas Lopez Garcia was charged with aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity.
