LUBBOCK, Texas -
The Texas Tech Alumni Association announced a new military veterans chapter.
The idea, to enhance recognition of military and veteran graduates and help maintain their Red Raider connections after college.
This chapter, open to military, veterans, family members and anyone interested in supporting the military service members.
"One of the questions that you'll always be asked is, 'where did you go to school?' in addition to 'where are you from?' Where did you go to school and people seek out common graduates from the same universities," said military veterans program director, Lou Ortiz. "There's always that Red Raider connection. Texas Tech is part of that community in the military. No matter where you go, you'll always be a Red Raider."
Tech is nationally recognized for providing a campus-wide support system for those who have served in the military and their families.
