Sudan senior wins 1st place in UIL informative speaking competit

A senior from Sudan earned the top spot in the 2016 UIL competition in Austin for informative speaking.

Jose Luis Melendez, who came in 5th in the state competition last year, made a goal for himself to win 1st at this year's UIL contest held May 24-25.

This is Melendez's second state championship of the year. He and his sister, Beatriz, won the cross-examination debate state championship in March.
