LUBBOCK, Texas -
Update:
A Wolfforth Fire Academy student found what he thought was a human bone at Clapp Park behind Safety City, according to a police report dated May 23, 2016.
The report indicates the student took the bone to his instructor, who is a licensed physician. The instructor named in the police report said he recognized the bone as a human tibia.
The bone was positively identified by a forensic investigator with the Lubbock Police Department, according to the report. Forensics were led to the scene where they continue to investigate, according to the report.
Update:
Sources close to the Zoe Campos missing person's case said volunteers had previously searched the area near the playa lake at Clapp Park, but not the particular side in which the bone was found. The source said Campos's last cell phone ping was within a mile of the park. Campos was last seen on the night of Nov. 17, 2013.

The Lubbock County Medical Examiner has confirmed to FOX34 the bone found Monday in Clapp Park is human.

The Lubbock Police Department is investigating after joggers reportedly found a human bone in Clapp Park.
Investigators responded to the scene Monday, May 23 and reportedly took custody of what they believe to be a human bone.
Crime scene investigators have been searching the area for additional remains and are being assisted by Lubbock Fire and Rescue dive team to search a playa lake in the park, according to LPD.
This is an active investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
