Heritage Society facilitates placement of Lubbock landmark on en

A Lubbock landmark has been placed on Preservation Texas' most endangered list.

The Lubbock Heritage Society helped facilitate the placement of the building, which in 1931, was the Lubbock County Jail building, on the list. The building currently serves as the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department headquarters.

The building, constructed during the Depression, helped put people to work at time when jobs were scarce. Lubbock Heritage Society hopes it is repurposed to keep its Art Deco structure.
