Runoff election early voting begins Monday

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Early voting in Lubbock's runoff elections begins on Monday, June 13.

At stake are Lubbock Municipal Court Judge and Lubbock City Council Districts One and Two.

The runoff race for Lubbock Municipal Judge is between Susan Rowley and Jorge E. Hernandez. The City Council contests are between Juan Chadis and Frank Gutierrez in District 1 and Shelia Patterson Harris and Jared B. Hall in District 2.

Dorothy Kennedy, Lubbock County Elections Administrator, said about 130,000 registered voters will be able to cast ballots.

"Most of everybody else will see the one municipal judge race on their ballot. We will be at our regular United's from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the days of early voting, and early voting ends the 21st of June," Kennedy said.

Election day is Saturday, June 25.  Voters are required to present an approved form of photo identification in order to vote in all Texas Elections. Information on early and election day voting locations can be found at votelubbock.org.
