The Medical Examiners office has confirmed the identity of the victim as 68 year old Laura Wheeler, the owner and resident of this address.

The Lubbock County Medical Examiners office will release the victim's identity, cause and manner of death at a later time, according to the Lubbock Fire Department.
A post on LFR's Facebook page says there is no indication of criminal activity.
The official fire cause determination remains under investigation. Smoking in the presence of medical oxygen has not been ruled out.

One person was found dead after fire crews extinguished a house fire Monday evening.
When fire units responded to the 1200 block of 49th Street at 8:30 p.m., heavy smoke was visible and flames were contained to the front living area, according to the fire marshal.
The victim has not been identified at this time and the investigation is ongoing. No other injuries were reported.
