UPDATED: Man arrested in attempted kidnapping

Lubbock Police have arrested a man they say tried to lure a teen girl into his car for prostitution.

Ricky James Overhulser, 53, is charged with attempt to compel prostitution. He was already jailed on unrelated charges, a slew of traffic violations.

Investigators say a girl was gassing up her mom's car at the 7-Eleven on Parkway Drive in east Lubbock Tuesday. A man drove up, asked twice for the girl to get in. She refused and ran to her mom inside the store. The suspect left, then returned, offering money. Police say he showed cash and asked "how much for your daughter?". The mom then called the police.
