LUBBOCK, Texas -
Employees celebrating one year in business at an after-hours party were interrupted when the boyfriend of one of the workers entered the restaurant armed with a knife, according to police.
LPD reports the suspect came into I Love Pho at 4th Street and Slide Road and began arguing with his girlfriend. Two other employees, referred to as victims by police, reportedly stepped in to defend the victim, asking the suspect to leave. Police say the suspect then pulled out a knife. One of the employees reportedly grabbed a knife from the kitchen to stop the assault, stabbing the suspect, according to Lt. Ray Mendoza.
Police say the suspect attempted to leave, but collapsed outside of his car. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and released from police custody pending filing of charges.
